Abstract

Baul songs and Baul ideologies are significant elements of Bengali folk culture. It flourishes and makes ultimate exposure through the spiritual songs and devotional pursuits of Fakir Lalon Sai. The non-discriminatory and humanistic Baul ideology of Lalon Fakir has had a profound effect on the over-all Bengali culture. This research article aims at presenting the Baul humanitarian aspect through a comparative study of some Bauls of the greater Mymensingh region. The significance and necessity of this ideology in the contemporary social perspective have also been manifested in this article along with the recommendation to research on and preserve it.
