Abstract

One of the most important genres of folklore, the Fairy Tale, is discussed in this article. Fairy tale is a fictional construction which depicts society and its people. In order to bring what is impossible in reality to the reach of possibility, there is an application of miracles and imaginations in fairy tales. So, no matter how complicated the problem is, there is always a definite solution in these stories. The subconscious mind of man fulfills its repressed desires in fairy tales. The past history of the people comes up in fairy tales as well as the present. Moral values are one of the important themes of fairy tales. In these stories, which are presented to the children, the fragments of social picture, the sorrows and pains of personal life as well as the aspects of morality and social values are predominant. As a result, these stories help to shape the moral character of the children. Fairy tales give birth to the idea that honesty always wins and those who are dishonest and hypocrite can never get anything better and cannot avoid punishment at the end.
