Siraj Uddin Khan Pathan was born in the family of a poor farmer in Babni village of Kalmakanda Thana in Netrokona district. In his youth he lost his sight. From then on he became known as ' Andha Siraj' or 'Blind Siraj'. He was initiated into Baul music by Chan Mia and became a popular Baul in the Netrokona region. He has presented 'Palagaan' and 'Maljora' with many famous Bauls. He has also sung on the same stage with his teacher Chan Mia. In this interview, he has clearly expressed that music is his passion and livelihood. During the Liberation War in 1971, he has inspired the freedom fighters through his singing. He has also worked as a news bearer among the freedom fighters. In recognition of his great talent, he has received various awards including the 'Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Padak'. Through this interview, various issues of his personal life and music career have come up. He has also shed light on the current state of Baul music in Bangladesh.
