ক্যান্সার প্রতিরোধ ও নিরাময়ে হার্বস ওউদ্ভিদজাত উপাদানের ভূমিকা

Abstract

ক্যান্সার রোগে অনিয়ন্ত্রিত ও অপরিকল্পিত কোষ বিভাজন ঘটে এবং তা রোগীকে মৃত্যুর দিকে ঠেলে দেয়। ক্যান্সারের কোনো কার্যকর ভ্যাক্সিন বা টিকা এখনো পর্যন্ত আবিষ্কার হয়নি যা দিয়ে ক্যান্সার প্রতিরোধ বা নিরাময় করা যায়। বর্তমানে বাজারে প্রাপ্য ক্যান্সার-বিরোধী অ্যালোপ্যাথিক ওষুধসমূহের অনেক অসুবিধা বা পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া রয়েছে, রয়েছে আপাতদৃষ্টিতে ভালো হয়ে যাওয়া ক্যান্সার ব্যাধির পুনরাবির্ভাব (recurrence) হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা। এইসব প্রেক্ষিত বিবেচনায় নিলে, প্রকৃতি প্রদত্ত ক্যান্সাররোধী গুল্ম ও উদ্ভিদজাত উপাদানসমূহ (Natural anticancer herbs and phytoconstituents) ক্যান্সারের বিকল্প ওষুধরূপে বিবেচনা করা যেতে পারে। এই প্রবন্ধে আমরা তেমনি কিছু ক্যান্সার-বিরোধী লতাগুল্ম ও উদ্ভিদজাত উপাদান নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছি যেগুলো ক্যান্সার প্রতিরোধ ও নিরাময়ে খুব ভালো ভূমিকা পালন করে। 

Cancer is a disease of cells where uncontrolled proliferation occurs leading to death of the incumbent. There is no effective vaccine for prevention and prophylaxis of cancer. Currently available anticancer allopathic drugs have a lot of disadvantages including frequent recurrence of the disease. In this perspective, nature could be a good alternative source of anticancer herbs and phytoconstituents that may prevent the proliferation of cells and even cure the cancer. This review summerises such herbs and phytoconstituents that could give good preventive and prophylactic effect as anticancer medication.
