আবেগের মনোবৈজ্ঞানিক ব্যবচ্ছেদ

Abstract

মনের স্বাস্থ্যের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অনুষদ হলো আবেগ বা ইমোশন। দেহের যেমন ফুসফুস মনের তেমনি আবেগ। রোবটের আবেগ নেই, মানবজাতির আছে। আক্ষরিক অর্থে আবেগ হলো মানুষের আলোড়িত অবস্থা, দেহের বাইরের কিংবা ভেতরের উদ্দীপক আবেগ জাগায়। মুদ্রার এপিঠ-ওপিটে মতো আন্তঃসম্পর্কের কারণে দেহ-মনে নাড়া দিয়ে যায় এ আলোড়ন। আবেগের রয়েছে তিনটি উপাদান বা অংশ : প্রথমত বৈশিষ্ট্যমণ্ডিত ব্যক্তিগত অনুভূতি, দ্বিতীয়ত শারীরবৃত্তীয় বিশেষ আলোড়িত অবস্থা, তৃতীয়ত মুখে পেশির সংকোচন-প্রসারণের মাধ্যমে দেহভঙ্গিমা বা দেহভাষা (বডি ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ) কিংবা অভিব্যক্তির বহিঃপ্রকাশ। এসব বিষয়সহ আবেগের প্রকারভেদ আবেগের আলোড়নে দৈহিক পরিবর্তন, আবেগ ও ¯স্নায়ুতন্ত্রের সম্পর্ক, আবেগের অভিব্যক্তি প্রকাশে গবেষকদের যুক্তি, আবেগের থিওরি, থিউরির সমালোচনা-পাল্টাসমালোচনা বিষয়ে সমকালীন সিদ্ধান্ত, কেন জানতে হবে আবেগের গতি-প্রকৃতি, রবীন্দ্রনাথের ‘পোস্ট্মাস্টার’ গল্পের মনস্তাত্ত্বিক স্বর উপস্থাপনার মাধ্যমে সাহিত্যে আবেগের শৈল্পিক ব্যবহার ইত্যাদি বিষয়গুলো মনোবৈজ্ঞানিক সূত্রের আলোকে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে এই প্রবন্ধে, বিশ্লেষণে।

An important faculty of mental health is emotion. The lung is very essential for the body, and so is emotion for the mind. Robots do not have emotion but humans have. Literaly emotion is the stired up or excited state of mind due to internal and external stimuli. Like two sides of a coin, for the interrelationship among people, this state stirs both the mind and the body. Emotion has three elements: first, characteristic individual emotion; second, a special agitating condition connected to the body; and third, an expression through the body language or contraction and expansion of facial tissues. Along with these matters, kinds of emotion, a change in the movement of limbs for the expression of emotion, the relation between emotion and nervous systems, arguments of scholars on the expression of emotion, theories of emotion, current discussions about criticism and counter-criticism of the theories, and why it is important to know the nature of emotion and the progress of its theories have been explored in this essay. Besides, through an analysis of psychological issues of Rabindranath Tagore’s story ‘Postmaster’, an artistic use of emotion in literature has been presented in the essay in light of psychological theories.
