Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral infection, poses a significant global health threat, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. This abstract explores the key aspects of Dengue fever, emphasizing its epidemiology, clinical manifestations, and available treatment strategies including vaccines. The etiological agent, Dengue virus, transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes, manifests in diverse clinical forms ranging from mild flu-like symptoms to severe hemorrhagic fever, posing a challenge for accurate diagnosis. Treatment of Dengue fever primarily focuses on supportive care to alleviate symptoms and manage complications. Fluid replacement therapy is crucial in preventing dehydration, a common complication in severe cases. Timely medical intervention and monitoring are essential to identify warning signs and prevent the progression to severe Dengue, which can be life-threatening. Despite ongoing efforts to develop specific antiviral drugs and Dengue vaccines, there is currently no targeted antiviral treatment available. Prevention strategies, including vector control measures and public awareness campaigns, remain pivotal in mitigating the impact of Dengue fever. The evolving nature of Dengue virus strains and the absence of a universally effective vaccine underscore the ongoing challenges in managing this infectious disease.
